Today nothing remains of the gold-mining town of Millwood, but many of the tunnels and shafts excavated during the boom are scattered among the hills, A trail from the Jubilee Creek picnic site leads upstream past some of the old alluvial diggings. Location: Extreme south-eastern sector of the province. Access: From Knysna take the N2 westwards towards George, turning right onto the road to Rheenendal; continue along this road for 12,6 km, then follow the signposts to Goudveld. Accommodation: None. Millwood Hut is available only to hikers on the Outeniqua Trail. Other facilities: Walking trails, picnic sites; historical sites; natural swimming pools. Open: Throughout the year.
